Shetland is abundant with fresh local ingredients. Many dishes are based on our rich heritage and culture including fishing and crofting and are often planned to fit in with themed exhibitions or events in the Museum.

The vibrant daytime café atmosphere provides a perfect setting for light snacks, lunches or afternoon coffee with a delicious homemade scone. Snacks are available all day, and daily specials are available in addition to the Lunch Menu, served from 12 noon to 3.00pm daily (including Sunday). 

Our exclusive Mootie Moose Menu offers a range of tasty smaller portions for our younger diners. Mootie Moose is a popular character at Shetland Museum and Archives and can often be found leading gallery tours and activity workshops for younger children.

Evening dining offers a more refined and relaxed ambience. Enjoy beautifully prepared meals from our Evening Menu accompanied by fine wine from our extensive Wine List. Our waiting staff will be pleased to suggest a wine to accompany your meal. Ask our waiting staff for details of today’s Chef’s Special.

Special Menus

Borges Seafood Menu - this will run alongside our normal evening menu until the end of November.  Local chef, Akshay Borges is known for his superb seafood cooking and will join our kitchen to offer you his choice of menu.

Our Christmas menu is now available and bookings are being taken for the festive season.  We would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment, particularly if you have a larger party.  Call 01595 741569 to book your table. Please note that all bookings of 8+ require a deposit to be paid and pre-order for food.

Christmas menus will be available from Friday 1st December to Saturday 23rd December.

Lunch served daily (except Sunday) from 12.00noon to 3.00pm. Two courses £20.00, three courses £25.00.

Evening menu available Thursday to Saturday from 5.00pm to 9.00pm (last orders).  Bookings will be taken for parties of over 20 Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  Two courses £30.00, three courses £35.00. (with tea and coffee)
